Main Dialog
The main dialog offers an informative and easy to use facility which allows you to view the current status of the FTP server. This dialog also allows access to all areas of the program.

Overall Status
There are 5 pieces of information on display, each one highlighting a different aspect of the server. The first line displays the overall status of the FTP server and the current listening port. The second line of information is the current number of users logged into the FTP server. The Data In and Data Out lines display the overall data transfer of the FTP server since it was last activated. The last line represents the current status of the Remote Admin facility, displaying how many current connections are established and how much data has been transferred.

Controls
There are five or six buttons (depending on your setup) located on the main dialog, the actions of which are described below...

  • Activate / Deactivate - This starts or stops the FTP server and the Remote Admin facility. By deactivating the FTP server, all current connections and files transfers will be disconnected.
  • Settings - This opens the settings control dialog which gives full access to all available settings and controls.
  • Hide in Tray - This hides the main dialog from view, double clicking on the icon in the system tray will restore the main dialog.
  • Start NT Service - If you have enabled 'Run as an NT Service' option in the General Settings you will now be able to see this extra button. By selecting this you can put Ability FTP Server into NT Service mode without needing to reboot.
  • Help / Enter Key / Update - This button opens up the help dialog which allows you to gain easy access to this manual (online or off-line), customer support, update your version of the program (only available in the full version) and control your license key.
  • View Activity - This button opens up the Activity Viewer which displays all currently connected users' activities in real time. This also gives you the option of 'kicking' or 'stopping the transfer' of the connected users.
